The Ashtanga Yoga + Social Media Grid features English-language yoga instructors, practitioners, bloggers, authors and photographers who use social media to spread the love when it comes to the beautiful and challenging practice of Ashtanga vinyasa yoga. It is a very subjective and necessarily incomplete grid of people and organizations who, in my view, make an effort to use social media to connect to a community.
I designed the grid for anyone who, like me, feels social media can spur more exploration of the practice and help establish lasting connections between practitioners. That said, when encountering anything promising to be “Ashtanga instruction” or “advice,” it’s my humble opinion that you should use your discernment (“viveka” in the Sanskrit along these lines, not to be confused with “viveka” used this way, OK? 😉 ) to determine whether that content is truly nourishment for your personal practice. To me, the cybershala is a cool place to hang out, but a physical shala, with deeply experienced and grounded instructors, will give you energy and understanding like no other space can.
